A Hopeful Hope Chest

I have been searching on craigslist and thrift stores for a few months looking for a chest or bench to use in our entry area. I finally found a hope chest for $25 bucks. And it was in Gig Harbor... meaning I didn't have to go out of my way to get it!

I forgot to take a before pic, but just picture a very dated looking chest with original hardware. It was in good shape though, so I knew I could fix it up for work for us. So, here's what I ended up with...

 I really love how it turned out. The hardware is my favorite part. And Ryan even helped pick out the fabric. What a guy! It's nice to have somewhere to sit and put our shoes on, but let's be honest, it's just becomes one more surface to get covered with crap on a daily basis.
